Teacup Chihuahuas

Teacup Chihuahua
  World’s Smallest Teacup Chihuahuas

Meet Milly, a Teacup Chihuahua from Puerto Rico. As of right now, Guinness lists two categories of “smallest” living dog: length and height. According to them, the smallest Teacup Chihuahua by height lives in Puerto Rico. Milly stands at 3.8 inches high, which towers over Toudi. And the smallest Teacup Chihuahua by length is Heaven Sent Brandy, yet another Chihuahua who measures 6 inches from nose to tail. There are no figures on Toudi’s length right now, but it seems that barring a sudden growth spurt, he may stand a very good chance at making that world record.

Teacup Chihuahuas are Perfect Companion

Teacup Chihuauas can make ideal companions. Small enough to fit in your purse, these dogs can accompany you wherever you go. Tiny, with an average height of seven inches and a weight of 2.75 to 4. 1/2 pounds, these cute little dogs are sure to draw attention! The term Teacup Chihuahua is used to describe a very small Chihuahua and is not a particular breed of Chihuahua. This terminology became popular in the 90s and is still going strong today! The demand for Teacup Chihuahuas has driven up the price for these tiny dogs, encouraging breeders to breed smaller and smaller dogs.

The Teacup Chihuahua’s Stomach Size

Being a small dog breed, it is obvious that Chihuahuas’ stomachs are much smaller than those of large dog breeds. You may hear breeders use a variety of names to describe these tiny dogs, none of which are recognised by the American Kennel Club. No matter how cute these extra small Teacup Chihuahuas are, there are risks of being that little. Besides just being fragile, with their small bones and light weight, they can be prone to hypothermia and Hypoglycemia due to low body fat and decreased liver function. These factors contribute to the Teacup Chihuahua’s small size.  Still, a Teacup Chihuahua by any other name would be as adorable.

These Tiny Teacup Chihuahuas Have My Heart

Owning one requires you to invest your time, money and energy to keeping them healthy. Regular visits to the vet are a must! These are very delicate dogs that can easily be injured. You need to be very gentle and careful when handling these super small dogs. Teacup Chihuahuas, also known as Micro Chihuahuas, are a smaller and more delicate version of the already tiny Chihuahua breed. They typically weigh between 2 – 3 pounds and stand no more than 6 inches tall at the shoulder. What makes Teacup Chihuahuas so special is their size and adorable appearance. They are often considered a fashion accessory.

Popular Among Celebrities

Teacup Chihuahuas have become increasingly popular among celebrities and those who are looking for a tiny, cute companion. They can fit into small living spaces and are easy to carry around, making them a convenient pet for those who live in apartments or have limited living space. Teacup Chihuahuas are not recognized as a separate breed by major kennel clubs and they can be prone to health problems due to their small size. They require special care, including frequent meals to maintain their energy levels and protection from cold weather, as they can easily get hypothermia. Additionally, they may have difficulty giving birth naturally, and they may have a shorter lifespan than regular-sized Chihuahuas. So while they may be cute and special in their own way, owning a Teacup Chihuahua requires a lot of responsibility.

Awaking The Need To Care In Women

I have thought a lot about the Teacup Chihuahua and what it is that draws me so intensely to the breed and makes me feel the need to care for them. The only explanation I can come up with is the mother instinct.  This “mother’s instinct” that a women feels when she cares for her infant baby. The happiness and the satisfaction I get being around my little Chihuahuas is something I just can’t describe:The intense love I felt from the first moment I saw them, and more through the years as I got to know them better. My Love has only intensefied, and made me choose to breed the Long Haired Chihuahua; to share with others what I have found in them.   Follow me and get updates on new litters.
